Our stories

Pre-sales consultant Lothar Codfried

Finding the best solution, together with our customers and technical specialists.

Pre-sales consultant Lothar Codfried thrives on it. After a career with large corporates,

he feels right at home at Avit.

Taking the lead

For eleven years, Lothar worked as a consultant for major telecom companies.

Eventually, he was ready for a change of scenery. "In my opinion, the IT developments

there weren't happening fast enough," he says. "I was looking for more dynamism. That's why

I wanted to join a smaller company where you can take more of a leadership role. In the spring of 2019,

I decided to take the leap."

Avit immediately appealed to him. "Here, you can bring your own ideas, and you're much less anonymous than in a

large corporate. There's a lot of attention for the human aspect. You feel that from management as well. It's hard

work and it's enjoyable. We regularly participate in sports events together. From tennis tournaments to cycling events

that customers also join."

Technical and commercial

As a pre-sales consultant, Lothar ensures that customers can rely on the best solution for their queries.

"Sometimes, my workload is a bit heavier for a few weeks because of this. But once the deadline is met,

I can ease up a little. Avit values that balance."

"The customer's request often boils down to functional desires and requirements. In conversations and

brainstorming sessions with the customer and our engineers, I guide the translation into a technical solution.

This results in a concrete project. The interaction with all parties involved, the merging of technical and

commercial aspects: that's what gives me energy."

New architectural concept

A great example is a project for a customer in Belgium: a large company in the financial sector.

"In that project, we let go of the silos. It's not just about for example security or the digital workplace.

We've developed a new architectural concept that encompasses everything. This way, the customer is assisted in

all areas. No matter where the users are, they can work securely and seamlessly."

So, Lothar is more focused on smart, integrated ways of working. "Currently, I'm working on a new solutions strategy

together with our software architects. I call them Avit's brain. Soon, we'll have a clear step-by-step plan for every inquiry.

This maintains the pace for each customer and is valuable for Avit in this phase of our growth."

Moving forward

And that growth is happening rapidly. "When I joined Avit, we had about 150 colleagues in the Netherlands.

Now we're over 300. Talk about dynamism. But the can-do mentality remains. People at Avit tend to have an

idea of how to move things forward and they invest energy in that. There's always room for a good plan."
