SECURE ACCES

SERVICE EDGE

SASE stands for Secure Access Service Edge. The term was thought up by Gartner. It is not one solution but a combination of solutions that ensures a reliable, fast and securely working network. In addition, SASE focuses on control.

Due to the increasing complexity of their IT, many organizations feel that they have less control over the security of the IT infrastructure. Data traffic, especially now that remote working is taking on a structural character, often runs completely outside the company network.

SASE is based on zero-trust. It is a philosophy of not trusting anything or anyone. First, an identity check takes place before access is granted. Technology that goes with this is:

  • Secure DNS (checking the reliability of a site someone wants to contact. An infected site is blocked immediately to keep out malware and viruses).
  • SWG (Secure Web Gateway, a Cloud firewall between the user and unauthorized websites).
  • Firewall as a Service (a firewall from the cloud with advanced options to repel threats).
  • The SDA, SD-WAN and Meraki infrastructure.

With SASE, you get a higher level of security and better insight into threats across the entire infrastructure and you can intervene more readily.
