AVIT EN DIJKLANDER HOSPITAL

IN HANDS FOR "EXCELLENT HEALTHCARE""

Vianen, September 1 2022 – Avit is updating the complete IT infrastructure of the Dijklander Hospital, to make it future proof. This digitisation process will lead to a higher availability of the systems, as well as a higher security – thus improving the level of the provided healthcare. The two parties intend to establish a long-term relationship.

The Dijklander Hospital has four locations in North Holland. It has a total number of over 3500 employees, including 900 medical specialists and 900 nurses. It is essential that both the wired and wireless network function optimally. This lead to the decision to outsource the IT network management and maintenance, to a partner whose core business is guaranteeing continuity. During the tender, Avit was chosen for its expertise, experience, speed and personal attention.

A PRAGMATIC ATTITUDE

Evert Smith, Sector United Manager at Avit: “I think our pragmatic approach made the best impression. We are open, transparent and honest: we also dare to point out what does not work well. It turned out the Dijklander Hospital needed per direct support with their network tasks. Three of our network engineers started working on it directly, without hesitation, to provide adequate aid.” Avit has a vast experience with supporting hospitals, like the Tergooi Medical Centre. Yet Smit emphasises there is no formula for success: “Each IT organisation is different. This means Avit will always choose the most appropriate managed solution.”

Ed de Myttenaere, CIO Dijklander Hospital “We spoke with three different organisations during the tendering process, concerning the maintenance of our whole Cisco network. We awarded the contract to Avit, because of their expertise, experience, quality and professional attitude. Their no-nonsense culture fits well with Dijklander too. Avit has successfully completed both the transition and the onboarding. I’m looking forward to establishing our collaboration even further.”

GRADUAL IMPROVEMENTS AND LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT

The transition and the onboarding (which is part of the services) also mean Avit is obliged to map the complete current IT network landscape. They also have to create a roadmap for improving and innovating the network. With our managed services as a starting point, Avit will design the network’s lifecycle management (LCM). This means the hospital’s network technology is always up to date. This way, Avit helps to contribute to the Dijklander Hospital’s ultimate goal: “Providing excellent healthcare, helping patients as quick as possible, and having full attention for them.” Though the contract is for one year, both parties keep their eyes on a shared future.
